We teamed up with American photographer Peter Beste for a capsule collection built entirely around one of the most significant documentary photography projects to ever come out of extreme music culture: True Norwegian Black Metal.

In 2002, Beste flew to Norway with a camera and no real plan beyond curiosity. 

What followed was six years and seven trips into one of the most insular, secretive subcultures in the world. Beste didn't just photograph the surface. He earned access most outsiders never get close to: intimate, off-guard portraits of the bands themselves, alongside the frozen landscapes that shaped their sound in the first place. 

Published in 2008, the resulting book became a reference point far beyond metal — a document of a scene that had never let anyone this close before.

The capsule pulls directly from that archive, image for image. 

The collection showcases a selection of archival imagery across graphic T-shirts, hoodies and skateboard decks. 

Snow-covered landscapes, remote forests and live performance photography are reinterpreted through a series of everyday silhouettes: a corpsepainted figure caught mid-ritual, live performance shots soaked in red stage light, a lone silhouette crossing a snowbound field, a black-and-white forest swallowed in fog. 

The skate decks carry the same imagery on one side, with a small Norwegian flag on the reverse, a quiet marker of exactly where all of this came from.

To launch the collaboration, the Wasted store on Rue Turbigo was wrapped entirely in Beste's photography, the same cross-clutching figure that anchors the book's cover taking over the shopfront, turning the store itself into an extension of the archive for the length of the drop.

A scene that was never meant to be seen. Now worn.
